About the position

At General Dynamics Mission Systems, the Engineering Test Technician plays a crucial role in developing mission-critical systems that ensure the safety of individuals in various sectors. This position involves working closely with engineering, operations support, and other departments to support engineering activities such as design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment. The technician will interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics, and will be responsible for constructing, modifying, debugging, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and adjusting a variety of tools, equipment, and systems. The role also includes conducting, analyzing, and documenting statistically based experiments to define process parameters, implementing and documenting complex solutions for process improvement, and designing and constructing basic tooling and fixtures to accomplish unique tasks. The technician will organize, analyze, and interpret data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommend resolutions or process improvements. This position is 100% on-site at the Silverdale, WA location, and offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native, and Quantum Physics to solve complex customer missions in various fields including cyber, RF, undersea, and interstellar operations. Responsibilities

  • Support engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems.
  • Interpret basic engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Construct, modify, debug, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and adjust a variety of tools, equipment, and systems.
  • Conduct, analyze, and document statistically based experiments to define process parameters.
  • Implement and document complex solutions for process improvement.
  • Design and construct basic tooling and fixtures to accomplish unique tasks.
  • Organize, analyze, and interpret data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommend resolution/process improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid knowledge and proficiency in the use of fabrication tools.
  • Ability to fabricate complex hardware.
  • Solid knowledge of generally accepted technical theory.
