About the position

The Enterprise Agility Manager at Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is a pivotal role responsible for leading the project management team to enhance the quality, consistency, and governance of projects across the organization. This position requires a strategic mindset to align the goals and objectives of the Enterprise Agility team with the broader strategic goals of LMCU. The manager will lead discussions and build consensus among stakeholders and organizational leadership to establish a mission and vision that fosters a results-oriented culture and mindset. In this role, the Enterprise Agility Manager will focus on coaching and mentoring team members, empowering them with methodologies, standards, metrics, and tools necessary for success. The manager will oversee the hiring, progressive discipline, and performance review processes for the Enterprise Agility team, ensuring that the team is strong and capable of meeting the demands of the organization. Operational excellence and lean thinking are critical components of this position. The manager will design and implement agility and continuous improvements in the investment decision process and project methodology, including lifecycle stage-gate processes and relevant project artifacts and templates. The role also involves overseeing the administration of the Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Tools, developing standards for reporting, tracking project benefits, and monitoring the 'make good' process. Additionally, the Enterprise Agility Manager will work closely with business and technology leaders to influence informed decision-making regarding enterprise project portfolio roadmaps and priorities. This collaboration is essential to systematically enable business capabilities, functions, and outcomes, ensuring that project and program management processes, methods, tools, techniques, frameworks, and standards are effectively implemented across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Enterprise Agility team to drive quality, consistency, and governance of projects across LMCU.
  • Build consensus among stakeholders and organizational leadership to establish the mission and vision of the team.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, empowering them with methodologies, standards, metrics, and tools.
  • Manage the Enterprise Agility team, including hiring, progressive discipline, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure alignment of Enterprise Agility goals with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Oversee consistent project reporting and tracking across all business units and IT functions.
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve project management practices for higher maturity in PPM.
  • Design and implement agility and continuous improvements in the investment decision process and project methodology.
  • Administer the Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Tools.
  • Develop standards for reporting, project benefits tracking, and monitor the 'make good' process.
  • Collaborate with business and technology leaders to influence decision-making on project portfolio roadmaps and priorities.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a PMO or similar function.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field of study.
  • PMP Certification recommended.
  • Proven experience in implementing project management methodologies and leading organizational change initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
