About the position

The Enterprise Architect, Lead at MITRE Corporation plays a crucial role in driving enterprise transformations for federal sector customers. This position involves collaborating with government agencies to address complex challenges, utilizing digital engineering, design thinking, and change management to enhance operations. The architect will develop strategic blueprints, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and create roadmaps for transitioning to future state organizational constructs.

Responsibilities

  • Define stakeholder engagement process and facilitate discussions to shape the future organizational vision.
  • Analyze current operations relative to the future state vision and identify necessary changes across enterprise architecture levels.
  • Translate customer mission, vision, goals, and strategies into an organizational construct and develop a Concept of Operations (ConOps).
  • Collaborate with government staff to align business capabilities and technologies with future state processes and structures.
  • Participate in planning and evaluating alternatives for transitioning business capabilities from legacy technologies to new solutions.
  • Facilitate discussions on prioritizing organizational, business process, and technology changes needed to achieve target state.
  • Contribute to capability development through knowledge management and research efforts.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts and generate data-driven insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience demonstrating the ability to meet stated responsibilities.
  • Active security DoD clearance at Secret level or higher.
  • Experience in systems analysis and integration, data modeling, software/system design, requirements analysis, and/or business process redesign.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (Zachman, TOGAF, DoDAF, UAF, etc.).
  • Proven deep knowledge in at least one technical area.
  • Experience with EA and/or Design Thinking, road mapping, process modeling, and service blueprints.
  • Ability to create visualizations and lead projects and teams.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Familiarity with working with Department of Defense and other Government agencies.
  • Proficiency in all forms of communication and standard office automation tools, specifically MS Office 365.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in a related field of study.
  • Enterprise Architecture certification.
  • Experience with Technology Business Management (TBM), Unified Modeling Language (UML), Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), System Modeling Language (SysML), and/or Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD).
  • Experience with enterprise software acquisition, requirements, deployments, and modernization efforts including cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) and SaaS products.
  • Experience with systems modeling and architecture tools including MS Visio, NoMagic, Alfabet, LeanIX.
