About The Position

The Enterprise Data Analyst position is located within the Information Technology Services department of Cobb County Government. The role focuses on facilitating data-informed decision-making across various departments by analyzing large and complex datasets. The analyst will employ statistical methods to derive insights, develop data collection systems, and create visual representations of data to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience analyzing and visualizing large datasets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and database query languages (T-SQL).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset towards continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as R, SQL, VBA, C#, and HTML5/CSS3.
• Experience with integration technologies like REST APIs, SOAP, and message queues.
• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling techniques.
• Relevant data analytics business intelligence certifications (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).

Responsibilities

• Clean, extract, analyze, and explore large complex datasets to gain meaningful insights.
• Use statistical methods to test hypotheses, identify trends, and make predictions.
• Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies to optimize efficiency and quality.

• Ensure data consistency and integrity through required departmental data authorization.
• Create visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
• Maintain awareness of new applications, technologies, and trends in data analytics and visualization.
