About the position

The Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for the strategic design and implementation of the organization's data architecture. This role ensures that data is effectively managed, integrated, and utilized across the enterprise to support business objectives. The Enterprise Data Architect will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to develop a comprehensive data strategy, ensuring data consistency, quality, and security across all systems and platforms. This role also focuses on designing and maintaining a reusable data architecture that pulls from sources of truth and manages data APIs to meet the diverse needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture framework, standards, and principles.
  • Design and implement reusable data architectures that pull from sources of truth.
  • Ensure data consistency, quality, and security across all systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Oversee the implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend data management tools and technologies.
  • Design and maintain data APIs to support multiple enterprise organizational needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to data stewards and other data management roles.
  • Monitor and optimize data architecture performance and scalability.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in data modeling techniques and tools.
  • Expertise in data integration and ETL processes.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience with data quality management and data security protocols.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design and maintain reusable data architectures.
  • Experience with designing and managing data APIs.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data governance.
  • Experience with enterprise data management tools and technologies (e.g., ETL, data warehousing, data lakes, lake houses, cloud data warehouses etc.).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • These skills are typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field; combined with a minimum of 7+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Management or related positions.
  • Masters degree preferred.
