As an Enterprise Data Governance Analyst II, you will be responsible for executing the Enterprise Data Governance Program to enable leadership to cost-effectively achieve and maintain an acceptable level of data risk in support of business strategic goals and regulatory requirements. This position will execute data governance risk analysis initiatives across the organization and evaluate results and insights as well as metrics of the Data Governance Program to identify areas for risk reduction. This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday). In this role, you will leverage data analysis tools and processes to conduct analyses on data stores across the enterprise to identify areas of risk and its severity. You will apply policies and best practices to the data analyses to identify executable actions which will reduce risk but maintain or increase business performance. You will also provide insight to business partners which enable them to make informed data risk management decisions and maintain strong working relationships with individuals and groups involved in managing information risks across the organization. Additionally, you will provide coaching to junior analysts and define, compile, and report on program metrics that effectively measure program maturity.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage data analysis tools and processes to conduct analyses on data stores across the enterprise to identify areas of risk and its severity.
  • Apply policies and best practices to the data analyses to identify executable actions which will reduce risk but maintain or increase business performance.
  • Understand and articulate the core functions and purpose of a Data Governance program.
  • Provide insight to business partners which enable them to make informed data risk management decisions.
  • Identify themes inside of business functions related to data use and data management which could help to attain targeted residual risk.
  • Define, compile, and report on program metrics that effectively measures program maturity.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with individuals and groups involved in managing information risks across the organization.
  • Provide coaching to junior analysts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, information systems, or information assurance or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience required.
  • Certifications in Data and Analytics practices preferred.
  • Experience in multiple data and analytics disciplines in support of the insurance, healthcare, or finance industries strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of how data analytics tools are applied to varying data stores and applications.
  • Knowledge of the basic concepts and issues related to information security and its organizational impact.
  • Proficiency with Data profiling and metadata scanning tools.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and QlikView.
  • Ability to use statistical and programming tools to analyze data and identify patterns and trends.
  • Proficiency in programming languages Python, R, and SQL to analyze and visualize data.
  • Ability to communicate complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident and well-organized manner through verbal, written, and/or visual means.
  • Ability to function in a collaborative environment, seeking consultation with other analysts and experts.
