About the position

The Enterprise Hardware Repair Field Engineer at Unisys Corporation is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for enterprise hardware and software products. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and installing various systems, ensuring customer satisfaction, and adhering to service level agreements. The engineer may also lead teams, manage smaller projects, and support legacy products, all while maintaining professionalism and a high standard of service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform server and storage break and fix.
  • Provide support for enterprise products and networking products, including Cisco certification requirements.
  • Act as a desk side support specialist.
  • Support payment systems products and Unisys core-CMOS products.
  • May function as team or site leader providing direction to other technicians.
  • Provide maintenance and support on legacy products.
  • Install and maintain PCs and associated software, networks, servers, and peripherals.
  • Perform installs, moves, adds, and changes as required.
  • Test and certify PCs, networks, servers, and client-approved applications.
  • Provide follow-up on problems or escalation.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the service delivery transaction.
  • Ensure client-specific Service Level Agreements are met and incident and request tickets are updated accordingly within the ticketing system.

Requirements

  • High school degree required.
  • 2-4 years of hands-on technical experience.
  • Electronics training equivalent to at least 2 years of technical institutes, polytechnic and/or military technical school/universities and/or applicable related technical experience.
  • Active directory/exchange server and operating systems knowledge.
  • A+ certification is a plus.
  • Specific manufacturer certification as required, i.e. HPE, EMC, Dell, Cisco, Microsoft, Apple, Unisys.
  • COMPTIA certifications, NETWORKPLUS, and current product training for legacy products.
  • Advanced knowledge of hardware and software including Unisys/Microsoft/Network operating systems and advanced troubleshooting capabilities on software and hardware problems.
  • Ability to test and certify mainframes and/or servers with associated peripherals using mechanical capability and an understanding of ESD procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Microsoft Server Certified Professional Certification and/or CCNA Certification is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of client-specific internal procedures and service delivery requirements.
