About the position

The Enterprise Risk Applications Development Senior Technical Manager at Citi is responsible for leading a team to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs. This role focuses on driving applications systems analysis and programming activities, ensuring that technical solutions align with business goals and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage one or more Applications Development teams to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications.
• Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects.
• Contribute to the formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals.
• Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations.
• Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handle day-to-day staff management issues.
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards, negotiating with external parties when necessary.
• Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

• 6-10 years overall experience in Java or Enterprise Apps Development.
• 7+ years of experience in large scale Apps development as a Java applications developer with experience using modern technology (e.g. Java, J2EE, Angular JS, SQL, Spring, Hibernate, OpenShift).
• Strong fundamentals of OOPS (Object Oriented Programming Standards) Concepts, Data Structures, and Algorithms.
• Strong experience developing and architecting integrated solutions with non-functional requirements like scalability, high availability, and consistency.
• Ability to write 'Clean code' using Core Java, JEE, Collections, Multithreading.
• Strong experience with API and Web Services development using REST/SOAP protocols.
• Fundamental database concepts and experience with a relational database (MSSQL, Oracle) or NoSQL platforms.
• Good understanding of Unit testing and test coverage.
• Ability and willingness to work across multiple tools, frameworks, and technology stacks.
• Fundamental understanding of and experience with cloud platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge with testing frameworks like JUNIT, Cucumber, Jasmine/Mocha.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of experience in financial services preferred, with experience building technology solutions on an enterprise scale.
• Experience in High-Speed Messaging platforms such as KAFKA.
• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery technologies and tools.
• Experience with Jenkins.
