About the position
The Environmental Compliance and Permitting Project Manager will oversee and execute environmental permitting and compliance projects for a diverse range of clients, including Fortune 100 companies and government entities. This role involves developing various environmental plans, conducting due diligence assessments, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The position also includes business development responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute to sustainability and ESG programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute environmental permitting and compliance projects.
- Develop SPCC Plans, SWPPPs, and NPDES permits.
- Provide hazardous waste, hazardous materials, EMS, air quality, and other environmental regulatory compliance services.
- Conduct Phase I and II environmental due diligence assessments.
- Perform regulatory research, compliance planning, and auditing.
- Prepare reports for state and federal environmental compliance.
- Assist clients in developing sustainability and ESG programs.
- Prepare technical proposals and cost estimates.
- Lead business development and marketing efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field; MS degree preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant environmental industry experience; PE, PG, and/or CHMM preferred.
- Knowledge of SPCC, RCRA, CWA, SWPPP, UST/AST systems, and Federal and State regulations.
- Experience with sustainability/ESG reporting and knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks preferred.
- Direct industry employment history managing projects, budgets, and preparing cost estimates.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to fulfill commitments on budget/schedule.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and affiliated applications.
- Interest in ESG issues.
