About the position

The Environmental Engineer will coordinate the Safety and Environmental (SHE) programs for a global chemical plant in Charleston, WV. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies while fostering a safe working environment. The engineer will support the organization in achieving its SHE objectives through effective program management and technical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain SHE policies, procedures, and programs.
• Oversee program management, including auditing, monitoring, reporting, and record keeping.
• Provide technical guidance and support on SHE issues across the organization.
• Coordinate and assist in training employees and contractors on SHE-related topics.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and investigations, and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

• BS in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Safety/Environmental compliance in the chemical manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of SHE regulations and best practices, including federal and state air, water, and waste regulations, RCRA, OSHA/PSM, NFPA, TSCA.
• Proven experience in SHE compliance within the manufacturing sector.
• Familiarity with current regulatory requirements and chemical industry standards.
• Ability to work now or in the future without sponsorship.
