About the position

This position is for an Electrophysiologist (EP) in a well-established cardiology group located in Albany, NY. The group is dedicated to providing high-quality, state-of-the-art cardiovascular care based on evidence-based guidelines. With a team of over two dozen physicians and advanced practitioners, they serve patients across two hospital campuses, offering a comprehensive range of services including general cardiology, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, vascular clinics, nuclear cardiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart, and electrophysiology, which includes walk-in clinics. The opportunity includes working in a hospital that features six catheterization labs with peripheral capabilities and one hybrid lab. The role involves providing full electrophysiology services, which encompass all device implantations, ablation procedures for supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), atrial fibrillation (A Fib), ventricular tachycardia (VT), and Watchman implantation. The practice has an active device clinic primarily managed by Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) under the oversight of an EP physician. Currently, there are three board-certified electrophysiologists in the group, ensuring active lab time and busy office schedules. Additionally, the group provides medical directorship for a Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Program, contributing to a strong presence in the Capital Region's cardiovascular physician practice landscape, with offices in Albany, Troy, Clifton Park, and Glens Falls, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full electrophysiology services including device implantation and ablation procedures.
  • Oversee the active device clinic primarily run by APPs.
  • Participate in the medical directorship of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Program.
  • Collaborate with a team of board-certified electrophysiologists to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Engage in community outreach and education regarding cardiovascular health.

Requirements

  • Board certification in Electrophysiology or equivalent training.
  • Experience in performing device implantations and ablation procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient care.

  • Fellowship training in Electrophysiology.
