ChristianaCare is seeking a Business Intelligence Senior Developer (BID) to design, manage, and maintain analytics content for end users and third parties who require Epic data. This role is crucial in developing reports, dashboards, and other data visualizations that assist stakeholders in making informed decisions based on accurate and timely data extracted from Epic systems. The BID will engage with stakeholders to determine business needs and ensure that analytics content is tailored to meet specific requirements, supports operational workflows, and complies with relevant standards and best practices. This position is hybrid, requiring frequent on-site work, and candidates must be within a commutable distance. Epic certification is preferred, and if not certified, candidates must become certified within three weeks of completing mandatory Epic training sessions.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with application teams and subject matter experts to determine business needs and document requirements.
  • Configure Epic reporting tools per the requirements.
  • Recommend and implement creative SQL code to solve complex workflow reporting needs.
  • Identify and analyze risks associated with Business Intelligence project tasks and escalate as needed.
  • Resolve end user reporting escalations when brought to attention.
  • Provide proactive Business Intelligence support through monitoring reporting tool usage and collaborating with experts to solve problems.
  • Configure and test Epic-released and Foundation System content for all applications.
  • Modify existing reports as necessary and distribute analytics content to data consumers.
  • Review peer reports for validity and maintain the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records.
  • Test analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume test in live environments.
  • Review upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determine how to implement changes.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for technical issues and general questions related to assigned applications.
  • Work in collaboration with Epic to implement new projects and manage upgrades of assigned applications with Epic.
  • Analyze and communicate the impact of issues, triage requests, and determine the priority of issues.
  • Resolve end-user application issues using Epic documentation and ensure business needs are met.
  • Validate solutions are complete and appropriately implemented, building relationships with end users and providing consistent support.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field or higher is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience working with Epic systems or similar EHR platforms preferably in claims analysis or a related field.
  • High School diploma with 7 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
  • Relevant certifications in data management, SQL, or Epic systems are highly desirable.
  • Epic certification preferred; if not certified, must become Epic certified within 3 weeks of completing the mandatory Epic training sessions.
