About the position

The Equipment Reliability & Stability Engineer II (Electrical) position at Honda Development and Manufacturing of America, LLC, is a critical role within the Manufacturing Equipment Services Department (MESD) at the East Liberty Auto Plant. This position focuses on identifying chronic or critical equipment and process downtime issues, leading efforts to develop root cause analyses, and implementing countermeasures to prevent recurrence. The engineer will collaborate closely with the MESD leadership team to ensure that equipment reliability is optimized and that production standards are met. In this role, the engineer will provide emergency technical support for complex problem analysis and countermeasures as required. They will assist Manufacturing Characteristics and Standards (MCS) and Equipment Production (EPD) associates by offering feedback and support on equipment-related troubles stemming from specifications, design, and installation issues. The engineer will also coordinate with EPD associates to facilitate the assembly and installation of countermeasure activities. Based on the results from Genpo, the engineer will identify concerns and propose potential countermeasures aimed at enhancing reliability in specifications, design, and installation activities. The engineer will be responsible for developing improvement themes in collaboration with the ERS team, focusing on regional improvements across North America. This includes supporting the identification of chronic downtime root causes, recommending countermeasures, and communicating issues to ERS Stability leadership for regional distribution. The engineer will analyze current manufacturing characteristics, summarize results, and provide input for improved reliability in new equipment specifications. Participation in North American Regional ERS meetings and documentation of results for senior management will be essential to create improvements in Genpo characteristics. Additionally, the engineer will conduct Key Performance Indicator gap analyses and develop countermeasure activities as needed, while also supporting the introduction of new technologies.
