About the position

The Escrow Specialist at Guild Mortgage Company plays a crucial role in managing the escrow function, focusing on tax, insurance, loss draft, and mortgage insurance processing. This position ensures compliance with established guidelines and regulations while contributing to the overall objectives of the department. The role requires independent research and analysis, timely processing of loan tasks, and effective communication with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Research items and complete tasks related to tax, insurance, loss draft, and mortgage insurance within SLA.
• Understand departmental objectives and recommend changes based on analysis.
• Conduct independent research/analysis to identify appropriate approaches.
• Complete accurate and timely loan tasks including escrow analysis and updating mortgage insurance premiums.
• Disburse tax, mortgage insurance, loss draft draws, and insurance amounts timely.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail in a timely manner.
• Process certificate activations and verify mortgage insurance information on loans.
• Process mortgage insurance removal requests and escrow adjustments accurately.
• Respond to calls, correspondence, emails, and inquiries in accordance with investor guidelines.
• Document loan activity accurately within the system of record.
• Communicate effectively with individuals/teams to ensure timely resolution of customer requests.
• Participate in activities and projects designed to improve business performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business, Finance/Accounting, Legal, or related field preferred.
• A minimum of one year of experience in mortgage loan servicing required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer operation required.
• General knowledge of mortgage banking processes, terminology, and documents.
• General knowledge of Federal and State mortgage regulations.
