About the position
The Estimating Lead at Nucor Cold Finish Wisconsin Inc. is a leadership role responsible for supervising a branch estimating team. This position requires prioritizing work, allocating resources, and implementing best practices to meet division goals. The Estimating Lead will ensure safety standards are upheld while providing industry-leading service and communication to differentiate Nucor from competitors.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication's safety programs and standards.
- Demonstrate leadership consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values.
- Possess thorough knowledge of the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice and ensure alignment with division processes.
- Lead the branch estimating team to achieve enterprise and division goals, including safety culture and continuous improvement.
- Provide industry-leading service and communication to differentiate Nucor from the competition.
- Assign estimating work to appropriate branch estimating teammates to ensure sales have necessary information for bidding.
- Oversee accuracy, quality, productivity, and timeliness of the branch estimating team and third-party resources.
- Communicate with the Estimating Supervisor and other Estimating Leads to manage estimating resources across the division.
- Mentor branch estimating teammates and provide performance feedback, coaching, and training.
- Perform or assist in periodic performance reviews of the branch estimating team.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Knowledge of concrete structures and CRSI/ACI standards.
- Ability to track plan revisions and bid updates against previous work.
- Good communication and computer skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings such as structural, architectural, and civil drawings.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines.
