About the position

The Estimating Lead at Nucor Cold Finish Wisconsin Inc. is a leadership role responsible for supervising a branch estimating team. This position requires prioritizing work, allocating resources, and implementing best practices to meet division goals. The Estimating Lead will ensure safety standards are upheld while providing industry-leading service and communication to differentiate Nucor from competitors.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication's safety programs and standards.
  • Demonstrate leadership consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice and ensure alignment with division processes.
  • Lead the branch estimating team to achieve enterprise and division goals, including safety culture and continuous improvement.
  • Provide industry-leading service and communication to differentiate Nucor from the competition.
  • Assign estimating work to appropriate branch estimating teammates to ensure sales have necessary information for bidding.
  • Oversee accuracy, quality, productivity, and timeliness of the branch estimating team and third-party resources.
  • Communicate with the Estimating Supervisor and other Estimating Leads to manage estimating resources across the division.
  • Mentor branch estimating teammates and provide performance feedback, coaching, and training.
  • Perform or assist in periodic performance reviews of the branch estimating team.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Knowledge of concrete structures and CRSI/ACI standards.
  • Ability to track plan revisions and bid updates against previous work.
  • Good communication and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings such as structural, architectural, and civil drawings.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines.
