About the position

The ETL Developer at HealthEdge Software Inc. is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting ETL processes that handle large healthcare data sets. This role requires a strong background in scripting languages and database management, with a focus on ensuring the performance and reliability of the product. The developer will collaborate with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams to enhance product features and troubleshoot technical issues, all while adhering to company policies and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support ETL processes for large healthcare data sets.
  • Develop new features and enhancements to align with product releases.
  • Recommend and design best practices for efficient data loads.
  • Deploy, orchestrate, and monitor ETL jobs.
  • Create process, architecture, and deployment documentation.
  • Interact with customers to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Perform production support activities and provide immediate solutions to issues.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and scrum activities.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide high-quality work and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide occasional support during weekends as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on coding/scripting experience in Python, C#, and Shell.
  • 3+ years of experience working with SQL, including query optimizations and writing stored procedures and functions.
  • Prior exposure to Airflow is a plus.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data and EDI files such as 834, 278, 837, and 999.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Bitbucket/Git.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with ticketing tools such as JIRA.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • ETL development experience using Talend Studio.
  • Familiarity with claim systems like Facets, QNXT, and Health Rules Payor.
  • Knowledge of Azure pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with messaging platforms such as Azure Service Bus or Kafka.
