About the position

The ETL Developer at HealthEdge Software Inc. is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting ETL processes that handle large healthcare data sets. This role requires a strong background in scripting languages and database management, with a focus on ensuring high performance and reliability of data operations. The developer will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance product features and troubleshoot technical issues, contributing to the overall success of the GuidingCare solution suite.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and support ETL processes for large healthcare data sets.
  • Develop new features and enhancements to match product releases.
  • Recommend and design best practices for performant data loads.
  • Deploy, orchestrate and monitor jobs.
  • Create process, architecture and deployment documents.
  • Interact with customers to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Perform production support activities, analyze issues, and provide effective solutions.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and scrum activities.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide high quality work and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide occasional support during weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years hands-on coding/scripting experience in Python, C#, Shell.
  • 3+ years' experience working with SQL, query optimizations, writing stored procedures and functions.
  • Prior exposure to Airflow.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data and EDI files like 834, 278, 837, 999.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Comfortable with version control systems like Bitbucket/Git.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working with ticketing tools such as JIRA.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives at once and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Self-starting, energetic, result-oriented individual.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • ETL development experience using Talend Studio.
  • Familiarity with claim systems like Facets, QNXT and Health Rules Payor.
  • Knowledge of Azure pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience on messaging platforms such as Azure Service Bus/Kafka.
