About the position

The ETRM Presales Consultant at Hitachi Energy is a pre-sales subject matter expert focused on Wholesale Electricity markets. This role involves pursuing business development strategies, providing functional and technical expertise, and ensuring a smooth transition from sales to project implementation. The consultant will leverage their knowledge of the trade life-cycle and business processes in the ETRM industry to prepare and present solution demonstrations, while also supporting the proposal process and driving sales revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Co-create, implement, and review global sales support strategies for ETRM solutions.
  • Assist market development representatives in qualifying prospects and leads.
  • Take ownership of demo systems for North America, ensuring effective solution demonstrations.
  • Drive the proposal development process in RFx activities, producing compelling responses.
  • Support bid/no bid analyses and participate in project risk reviews.
  • Evaluate sales opportunities to ensure efficient use of company resources.
  • Coordinate and perform detailed product demonstrations tailored to prospects' needs.
  • Engage with customers during technical meetings, workshops, and negotiations, providing necessary support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree.
  • Minimum eight years of industry experience in the ETRM space, specifically in wholesale power.
  • Good working knowledge of the North American wholesale electricity market, including Physical and Financial Power contracts.
  • Exposure to North American ISO/RTOs, Natural gas pipelines, Renewable energy sources, and energy storage.
  • Prior relevant work experience with prominent ETRM vendors.
  • Experience in coordinating teams with a focus on operational execution.
  • Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations on complex business and technical subjects.
  • Willingness to travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge in other commodities such as Natural Gas, LNG, and Environmental markets.
  • Understanding of Power and PPA logistics.
