About the position

The Event Planner/Executive Assistant works at the direction of the Chief of Benevolence. This position is responsible for providing event planning support for both virtual and in-person events with up to 400 attendees. Responsibilities include coordinating venues, producing market research analysis, drafting event documents required for approval, and managing attendee registration. The role also involves coordinating internal IT support, working with benevolent organizations, setting up audio/visual equipment, and assisting in the execution of the annual Warrior Care Program (WCP) Conference utilizing project management concepts. Additionally, the position requires assisting in the planning of bi-annual Warrior Care Program (WCP) RCC training, producing materials for the Benevolent Section, and filling in for the Benevolent Support Coordinator during staffing shortages. The Event Planner/Executive Assistant will also collect, analyze, and report on metrics related to benevolent activities, manage the calendar for the Chief of Benevolence, and track data in internal databases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide event planning support for virtual and in-person events with up to 400 attendees.
  • Coordinate venues and produce market research analysis.
  • Draft event documents required for approval and correspondence for attendee registration.
  • Coordinate internal IT support and work with benevolent organizations.
  • Set up audio/visual equipment for events.
  • Assist in the execution of the annual Warrior Care Program (WCP) Conference.
  • Assist in planning and technical execution of bi-annual Warrior Care Program (WCP) RCC training.
  • Produce required materials for the Benevolent Section.
  • Fill in for the Benevolent Support Coordinator during staffing shortages.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on metrics of benevolent activities.
  • Manage the calendar for the Chief of Benevolence.
  • Manage wellness events and provide holiday support.
  • Track and maintain current data in internal databases.
  • Perform general office and administrative support functions.

Requirements

  • Possess a current SECRET clearance.
  • 4 years of direct experience in non-federal entity interaction related specifically to wounded, ill, or injured Service Members.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
