About the position

The Event Technology Marketing Manager at Avnet is responsible for the comprehensive planning and execution of event logistics for a variety of internal, customer, and partner-facing events. This includes conferences, trade shows, corporate functions, leadership meetings, and community events. The role encompasses managing all aspects of assigned events from the initial pre-event planning discussions through to the evaluation of post-event results. The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of Cvent event management software, which is essential for designing, building, and customizing event management sites, including registration and sponsorship sites. They will also be responsible for developing surveys, providing detailed reporting, setting up on-site registration systems, and creating mobile apps to enhance the event experience. In addition to technical skills, the Event Technology Marketing Manager must possess strong organizational and analytical abilities to effectively plan, execute, and analyze the results of event projects. This includes working closely with both internal and external customers to identify and understand event goals and requirements. The manager will create individual event project plans, identify key deliverables and milestones, and drive the execution of events to meet those milestones. Negotiating event contracts, managing budgets, and ensuring all legal approvals are obtained are also critical components of this role. On-site management of events and providing direction to extended internal and external teams are essential for ensuring the success of each event. The position requires a thorough understanding of industry practices, techniques, and standards, and the ability to develop solutions for a variety of situations. The Event Technology Marketing Manager will work independently, exercising judgment and discretion, while collaborating with management and team members across the organization. Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute event logistics for various internal and external events.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 5+ years of experience in event management or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Thorough knowledge of event management principles and practices.
  • Competent in using event management software, particularly Cvent.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with budget management and financial reporting for events.
  • Familiarity with various event types including trade shows and corporate functions.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment, preferably located in Phoenix, AZ.
