About the position

The Account Executive Officer (AEO) for Excess Casualty at Travelers is a pivotal role that focuses on providing coverage against unforeseen catastrophic losses, such as those arising from severe auto accidents or product liability claims. This position requires a strong partnership with agents and brokers to ensure that both new and renewal business aligns with customer needs. As an AEO, you will be recognized as a technical resource, leveraging your decisiveness and attention to detail to build and maintain relationships that drive results. Your ability to independently assess complex risks and navigate challenging markets will be crucial in contributing to the profitability and success of Travelers. In this role, you will manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business. This involves underwriting and skillfully negotiating complex customer accounts to minimize risk while maximizing profitability. You will cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners across the enterprise to create effective sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities. Additionally, fostering relationships with external partners through regular in-person meetings with agents and brokers will be essential to market and sell Travelers products effectively. You will also be responsible for identifying and capturing new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills. The AEO will independently develop and execute agency sales plans, frequently collaborating with the Managing Director to create regional or group sales strategies.
