About the position

The Executive Director Bench position at Brookdale Senior Living is designed for experienced leaders in the continued care retirement community (CCRC) setting. This role involves participating in a comprehensive training program to prepare for the Executive Director role, focusing on people management, operations, and clinical management. The Executive Director will oversee all operations, ensuring high resident satisfaction and retention, while also managing staff and community relations.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in on-the-job training experiences for the Executive Director role.
  • Responsible for all operations, acting as contact for all staff, residents, prospects, community organizations, government agencies, and the public.
  • Supervise, direct, and motivate community staff, providing direct resident care as needed.
  • Maintain high degree of resident satisfaction and retention through consistent delivery of high-quality services.
  • Execute renewal program with existing residents through a proactive program.
  • Execute annual operating and capital budgets, anticipating and minimizing negative budget variances.
  • Hire, train, discipline, and terminate employees in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure buildings, grounds, and property are up to company standards through oversight of preventative maintenance systems.
  • Maintain current departmental policies, procedures, and licenses in accordance with company and state requirements.
  • Foster creativity among staff to deliver the highest quality services to residents.
  • Develop and maintain a positive image within the local community and represent the community to various agencies.
  • Utilize approved sales and marketing activities to maximize occupancy.
  • Assist in developing and conducting service plan reviews with appropriate resident care team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of two to four years related leadership experience required.
  • Must have a valid administrator license in states where required.
  • Must have a valid driver license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
