About the position

As an Executive Office Assistant (Legal Secretary) at CGS, you will play a crucial role in supporting a federal agency by performing moderately complex litigation support tasks. This position requires a proactive individual who can handle a variety of responsibilities, including reviewing and analyzing case materials, indexing and acquiring case files from databases, and managing phone communications for Senior Executive Officers. You will be involved in detailed tasks such as drafting procedures for litigation support assignments, conducting database searches, and proofreading and editing deliverable products. Your ability to produce high-quality work under pressure is essential, as you will be working with sensitive and important legal documents. In this role, you will also be responsible for arranging travel for Senior Trial Attorneys using a proprietary database, writing memos and letters, creating PowerPoint presentations, generating complex spreadsheets, and managing digital files. The position requires at least two years of word processing experience, including one year specifically in litigation support. You must be able to type at a minimum rate of 65 words per minute with a 95% accuracy rate. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary, as well as the ability to anticipate the needs of others and collaborate effectively within a team. Responsibilities

  • Perform moderately complex litigation support tasks, including detailed review and analysis of case materials.

  • Answer phones for Senior Executive Officers.

  • Write memos and letters, create PowerPoint presentations, and generate complex spreadsheets.
  • Download PDFs, save to the network, create folders, and unzip files.

Requirements

  • At least two years of word processing experience, including one year of litigation support experience.
  • Must be able to type at a minimum rate of 65 words per minute with an accuracy rate of 95%.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work under extreme pressure is very important.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
