About the position

As an Executive Office Assistant (Legal Secretary) at CGS, you will play a crucial role in supporting a federal agency by performing moderately complex litigation support tasks. This position requires a proactive individual who can handle a variety of responsibilities, including reviewing and analyzing case materials, indexing and acquiring case files from databases, and managing phone communications. You will be expected to assist Senior Trial Attorneys by arranging travel, drafting memos and letters, creating PowerPoint presentations, and generating complex spreadsheets. Your ability to proofread and edit deliverable products will be essential in ensuring the highest quality of work under pressure. In this role, you will engage in detailed indexing of case files and document acquisition tasks, as well as conducting database searches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in word processing, with at least two years of experience, including one year specifically in litigation support. You must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment is critical. Additionally, you will need to be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining a Public Trust Clearance. Responsibilities

  • Perform moderately complex litigation support tasks, including detailed review and analysis of case materials.
  • Index and acquire case files from databases.
  • Answer phone lines for Senior Executive Officers.
  • Arrange travel for Senior Trial Attorneys using a proprietary database.
  • Draft memos, letters, and create PowerPoint presentations.
  • Generate complex spreadsheets and manage document acquisition tasks.
  • Proofread and edit deliverable products.
  • Conduct database searches and save documents to the network.

Requirements

  • At least two years of word processing experience.
  • One year of litigation support experience.
  • Ability to type at a minimum rate of 65 wpm with an accuracy rate of 95%.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work under extreme pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
