The job of General Merchandise and Food Sales teams is to lead inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and create a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Model, train, and coach Team Leaders on expectations to deliver the service standard.
  • Drive total store sales and demonstrate how the team contributes to total store profitability.
  • Build and manage the team to be experts in operations and ensure accuracy and efficiency in all inbound processes.
  • Develop a strategy and utilize workload planning tools to complete all scheduled workload.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes the guest experience and delivers on store sales goals.
  • Manage all General Merch backroom and sales floor areas.
  • Review all reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve.
  • Anticipate short-term and long-term staffing needs, and manage talent planning and recruitment.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Create and lead a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning.
  • Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.)

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Comfortable dealing with and managing teams through ambiguity.
  • Manage conflict, lead and hold others accountable.
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Learn and adapt to evolving technology needs.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
