About the position

The role of a Specialty Sales Executive Team Leader at Target involves leading a sales force of specialized consultants who provide tailored suggestions and solutions through active selling and compelling visual merchandising presentations. This position is focused on enhancing the guest experience while managing various tasks to ensure product availability and ease of shopping. The Specialty Sales Executive Team Leader will gain knowledge of guest service fundamentals, retail business fundamentals, and experience in managing a team to deliver on sales goals. The position requires the ability to manage multiple specialty businesses and create a guest-obsessed culture within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand the role in sales growth.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead the team to prioritize guest experience.
  • Create schedules and adjust as needed to align with guest traffic and business needs.
  • Manage team to effectively plan merchandising and pricing workload.
  • Know and assess the competition and leverage guest insights.
  • Work a flexible schedule that includes early morning, evening, overnight shifts, and weekends.
  • Build a knowledgeable and passionate team in Apparel and Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics.
  • Manage and develop a sales force using selling training techniques.
  • Lead backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment of the sales floor.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and used as an extension of the sales floor.
  • Plan, lead, and follow-up on organizational and operational changes.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and recruit talent.
  • Develop and coach team members to elevate their skills.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to manage conflict and hold others accountable.
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis and decision making.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
