About the position

The Experience Manager (EM) at Ulta Beauty is responsible for leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and drive sales growth in retail and services. This role encompasses overseeing salon services, boutiques, and retail sales while ensuring compliance with company standards. The EM is accountable for metrics such as Net Promoter Score (NPS) and plays a crucial role in team development, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of stylists, estheticians, and guest coordinators to achieve sales and service goals.
  • Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed store goals related to services and retail sales.
  • Drive company profitability through operational excellence and expense control.
  • Support direct reports in developing and maintaining their clientele.
  • Perform makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance guest service experience.
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent for the salon and boutiques.
  • Create an inclusive environment that encourages growth and engagement of associates.
  • Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and standards for the store.
  • Utilize company tools to manage schedules and store workload effectively.
  • Communicate business trends and opportunities to field and services leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid Cosmetology license and/or cosmetology management license as required by state law.
  • 2-3+ years of relevant retail management experience.
  • Proven success in driving top-line sales and managing payroll budgets.
  • Advanced competency in salon services and guest experience management.
  • Experience in attracting, developing, and motivating a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in fast-paced retail environments.
  • Knowledge of Board of Cosmetology regulations.
  • Proficiency with technology such as Point of Sale systems and Microsoft Office.
