About the position

This position is for an experienced Process Improvement Chemical Engineer within the Polymers Process Development group at Eastman. The role focuses on driving initiatives related to circularity and new product development in the manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while enhancing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process improvement in a manufacturing environment while maintaining safety, regulatory, change management, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Provide timely assistance to manufacturing to resolve production processing problems, support cost savings initiatives, and advance safety programs.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology, manufacturing, businesses, HSES, Engineering, and other functions to drive process improvement and business initiatives.
  • Enhance professional growth and technical awareness by keeping abreast of technical literature and pursuing relevant training.
  • Communicate project needs, value, priorities, and decisions to management and project stakeholders to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a chemical plant manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform at a high level of accomplishment.
  • Ability to solve difficult problems and work well with others.
  • Experience leading and serving on team projects.
  • Dedication to meeting expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Active listening and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to make decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
