Join the VCA Brookline team! We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Client Care Specialist to become a vital part of our well-established hospital. Located in the heart of Brookline, just a mile from downtown Boston, our facility is a fast-paced general medicine practice with a team of seven doctors and eight exam rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology. As the face of VCA Brookline, the Client Service Representative (CSR) sets the tone for the practice, building and maintaining trust and confidence with our clients. The CSR is pivotal to the hospital's operations, responsible for various customer service functions, including greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms. This role also involves scheduling and confirming appointments, placing outbound calls for follow-ups, presenting and explaining fees, processing payments, and recommending products and services. Additionally, the CSR will manage medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence, while ensuring the hospital is clean and well-maintained at all times, both inside and outside.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting visitors and providing a warm welcome to clients and their pets.
  • Answering telephones and guiding clients to exam rooms.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments for clients.
  • Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
  • Presenting and explaining fees to clients, including processing payments.
  • Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
  • Answering questions regarding products and services, educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care.
  • Managing medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence.
  • Maintaining the hospital environment, including the removal of animal waste and ensuring cleanliness inside and outside.

Requirements

  • Experience in a veterinary or customer service role is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor towards clients and pets.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on high-quality customer service.
  • Reliability and self-motivation are essential.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a veterinary practice or animal care environment.
