About The Position

The Expert Project Controls Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the effective management of project scheduling and earned value analysis within PG&E's Electric Operations team. This position requires advanced expertise in scheduling and earned value management, focusing on developing technical standards, implementing strategies, and resolving complex project issues. The analyst will work in a hybrid environment, balancing remote work with on-site responsibilities as needed, and will be instrumental in mentoring less experienced analysts while driving improvements in project performance.

Requirements

  • BA or BS Degree from an accredited curriculum in the US or equivalent
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Current Project Scheduler Professional (PSP) Certification by AACEI
  • 7 years of experience as a Project Controls Analyst or 12 years of PG&E relevant experience or 14 years of related industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Earning Rules and Baseline Schedule Templates
  • Assist in tracking and reporting work stream portfolio trend analysis
  • Identify, provide recommendations, and lead improvements or corrective action to program
  • Train and mentor less experienced PCA's, providing guidance and assistance
  • Help develop and implement earned value and portfolio schedule strategies
  • Manage complex 2,000 to 10,000 line-item schedule
  • Create and maintain complex integrated schedules including import of contractor schedules and functional schedules
  • Create contractor scheduling specifications for bid packages
  • Review contractor schedule submissions and PG&E generated schedules for accuracy
  • Use tools to manage Schedule Change and perform impact analysis
  • Work across multiple cross functional work streams to generate comprehensive solutions
  • Interact with Managers and Directors to influence, design and implement processes
  • Create detailed plans with limited information including WBS structure and core logic
  • Maintain and mentor other PCA's regarding ANSI/EIA-748-Compliant Earned Value Management systems
