About The Position

The External Manufacturing Workforce Development Trainer at GE Appliances is responsible for leading programs that promote interest in manufacturing and build a talent pipeline within the community. This role involves collaborating with local schools, government agencies, and industry partners to create impactful training programs and events that prepare individuals for careers in manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, HR, Learning & Development, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years in Manufacturing Leadership, Workforce Training, or HR, with experience in classroom facilitation and course planning.
• Strong communication skills to simplify complex ideas and engage diverse audiences.
• Proven experience in curriculum development and knowledge of Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with e-learning software is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and a positive, professional presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead External Workforce Development Programs, including designing and overseeing manufacturing workforce programs and coordinating events like Manufacturing Month.
• Build partnerships with community and educational institutions to develop skills and cultivate a talent pipeline.
• Manage key programs like SummerWorks, providing coaching, development, and recruitment for high school apprenticeships.
• Stay current on the latest manufacturing processes and technologies to deliver relevant training.
• Develop Learning Plans for Key Manufacturing Roles in collaboration with HR and Manufacturing Leaders.
• Deliver training sessions on essential manufacturing skills and topics, including Cultural Competency and Front Line Leadership.
• Evaluate course and trainer effectiveness, using feedback to improve the training experience.
