We're seeking a detail-oriented F&B Staff Accountant to join our growing Portland accounting team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in processing transactions, ensuring strong internal controls, and supporting the financial operations of our diverse portfolio of food and beverage businesses. This is your chance to be part of a fast-paced, innovative environment where you can directly impact the growth and profitability of exciting restaurant brands. Important Note: This role requires a minimum of 3-4 days per week from our office located on SE 2nd Avenue in Portland.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure proper recording of all business transactions, including banking, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, to facilitate the monthly close process.
• Execute organization processes to ensure effective operation of internal controls, especially around Cash, AR, and AP transactions.
• Assist in the design, implementation, and review of the new company processes and procedures, including process documentation, to support business growth.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and subsidiary ledgers, including Debt, Fixed Assets, Intangibles, Accrued Liabilities, Gift Card Liabilities, and Accounts Receivable.
• Reconcile POS and e-commerce sales and fees.
• Learn the organization's ERP and Finance systems, including NetSuite, POS, Ecommerce, Expense Reporting, and ERP systems, with the goal of driving automation, efficiency, and scalability initiatives across the portfolio of businesses.
• Drive standardization across our portfolio of businesses and support daily operations while building strong relationships with the pillar teams.

Requirements

• Great attention to detail, strong communication and organization skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Restaurant or hospitality accounting experience is a MUST.

Nice-to-haves

• Full cycle accounting experience with demonstrated process improvement.
• A track record of successful cross-team collaboration and driving cross-organizational changes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Accounting or Finance degree.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
