About the position

The Global Operations Group at Lam Research is a dynamic team that integrates information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and high-volume manufacturing to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our global business operations. This group plays a crucial role in delivering industry-leading solutions with speed and efficiency, while also supporting the resilient and profitable growth of Lam's business. As part of this team, you will be responsible for planning facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and maximizing the use of facilities and equipment. In this role, you will coordinate with architecture and engineering firms to develop design criteria and prepare layout and detail drawings. You will also prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition, review and estimate design costs, and inspect construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Additionally, you will develop criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and adhere to building and safety codes. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the chemical infrastructure systems for the Fremont and Livermore campuses, focusing on both chemical/process systems and water systems. You will provide chemical engineering design review input and approval for facility infrastructure and process tool installation projects, maintain load and capacity studies for facility infrastructure systems, and drive improvements in infrastructure system performance and uptime. You will work directly with contractors and service providers to ensure operational results and perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis during project design development phases.

Responsibilities

  • Plan facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts.

  • Develop criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.
  • Oversee chemical infrastructure systems for Fremont and Livermore campuses.
  • Provide chemical engineering design review input and approval for facility infrastructure and process tool installation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with a minimum of 5 years of high tech/semiconductor R&D lab/wafer fab experience.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor specialty gases (properties, hazards, etc.) and safety practices.
  • Familiarity with process PLC control systems.
  • Experience with standard operating procedure creation and training skills.
  • Experience with energy efficiency improvement projects.
  • Capital and expensed project financial management and control experience.
  • Strong safety culture.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment.
  • Value internal and cross-functional teamwork to solve problems.
  • Assertive nature and willingness to support customer needs when challenged.
