About the position

The Maintenance & Facilities Department at Carroll Manor in Washington, DC is seeking a dedicated individual to manage daily operations and ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. The role involves developing and maintaining mid to long-term goals and plans for facility maintenance to maximize safety, aesthetics, operability, and service excellence. The position is salaried with a salary range of $60,132.80 to $99,195.20 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the maintenance and facilities department.
  • Develop and maintain mid to long-term goals and plans for facility maintenance.
  • Manage staffing, performance evaluation, and training activities.
  • Assist with capacity planning for staff and contract labor.
  • Ensure facilities are maintained, secured, renovated, and constructed according to policies and procedures.
  • Work directly with vendors and purchasing staff to request proposals for repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with the development and compliance with departmental budgets.
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and continuous availability of required supplies and materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and provide guidance to associates.

Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 2 years of cumulative experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
  • Certification specializing in Healthcare Facilities preferred.
  • Certification specializing in Heating, Piping & Cooling preferred.
  • Engineer preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Healthcare Facilities Management strongly preferred.
  • Senior Services Facilities Management strongly preferred.
