About the position

The Facilities Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the Integrated Nanofabrication and Cleanroom Facility (INCF) at Lehigh University. This facility is a key shared resource that provides advanced nanofabrication, materials growth, characterization, and packaging capabilities to support a wide range of multi-disciplinary research initiatives. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for managing the cleanroom and chemical vapor deposition facility, ensuring that all semiconductor processing tools are qualified and maintained to the highest standards. This includes tools used for deposition, processing, etching, lithography, analysis, and characterization. In addition to managing the technical aspects of the facility, the Facilities Manager will also administer chemical safety training and documentation, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The role requires providing training to new users, both from within the Lehigh community and external academic and industrial partners. The Facilities Manager will also be responsible for semiconductor process development and maintaining critical facility systems such as process cooling, liquid nitrogen, compressed air, DI/RO water, and neutralization systems. As the building manager for Sinclair Laboratory and Smith Family Laboratory, the Facilities Manager will act as the primary point of contact for emergency situations, coordinating with the Lehigh Police and Bethlehem Fire Department as needed. The position requires a commitment to being physically present on campus, as remote work is not an option. The role may also involve occasional evening, holiday, or weekend hours to complete semiconductor process procedures or to support research sample evaluations.
