About the position
The Facilities Mechanic position involves maintaining and repairing various facilities in Nassau, Manhattan, and Rye, NY. The role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the functionality and safety of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks. The position is permanent and offers a competitive salary range.
Responsibilities
- Replace electrical components and repair plumbing fixtures, ceiling tiles, and leaking roofs.
- Build new storage and office spaces, sidewalks, retaining walls, and hallways.
- Inspect rooftops, walls, walkways, light fixtures, windows, and drains for preventive maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and building system malfunctions.
- Work with various materials such as copper, PVC, brass, and stainless steel for plumbing tasks.
- Evaluate and repair refrigeration system performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with PLC systems.
- Familiarity with Johnson Controls systems.
- Knowledge of generators and boilers.
