About the position
The Facilities Property Worker position at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is a role focused on the operation, maintenance, and improvement of various facilities and properties. This position serves as an advancement opportunity for those who have successfully completed the Facilities Property Trainee role for two years. The worker will engage in a wide range of tasks including maintenance of recreation areas, roads, buildings, and other infrastructure, while also assisting in training new workers and trainees.
Responsibilities
- Assist in training facilities property workers and trainees.
- Perform maintenance and improvement work on recreation areas, dam reservations, and other facilities.
- Repair and maintain paved and unpaved roads, trails, and parking areas.
- Excavate underground pipes and cables for repair.
- Construct check dams and install water control measures to prevent erosion.
- Spread and level materials such as sand and gravel.
- Construct and repair campground impact sites.
- Set up and operate irrigation systems and pressure pumps.
- Clean and maintain water and sewer systems, visitor buildings, and restroom facilities.
- Mow lawns and maintain landscape planting areas.
- Install or modify corporate office spaces and support loading dock logistics.
- Operate light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Operate commercial grounds equipment and farm-type tractors.
- Participate in safety discussions and on-the-job training.
Requirements
- Must have successfully performed as a Facilities Property Trainee.
- Commercial Driver's License (A or B Endorsement) required.
- Pesticide/Herbicide Application certification required.
- Boating Safety Certificate required.
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
- TVA Defensive Driving Requirements certification required.
Nice-to-haves
- Rigging certification (if required at work location).
- Forklift, Aerial Lift, Man Lift certification (if required at work location).
- Power Chain Saw certification.
