About the position

As the Facility HVAC Manager at Warner Bros. Discovery, you will play a crucial role in managing, supervising, coordinating, and directing the maintenance, repair, and construction of both new and existing electro-mechanical equipment and systems. Your responsibilities will include overseeing SMART building technologies, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs, and fire systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will be tasked with ensuring the continuous uptime of the central mechanical plant and associated campus-wide systems, which is vital for the smooth operation of our facilities. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to perform other duties as required or assigned. In your daily operations, you will work closely with the Director of Physical Plant to design and implement an effective preventive maintenance program for all electrical, mechanical, and architectural components, systems, and structures. You will utilize remote automation to install energy-saving setback programs in non-critical office environments and manage work priorities based on the criticality of the equipment and systems served. Your role will also involve overseeing employee scheduling, reviewing timesheets, and ensuring that all personnel perform their duties effectively and independently. You will be responsible for determining the reasons for malfunctions in components, systems, or structures, deciding on corrective actions, and ensuring timely repairs. This includes reading and interpreting various technical documents such as electrical, electronic, mechanical, plumbing, and architectural drawings. Additionally, you will secure ordering information and prices for materials and equipment, provide input for long-term capital investment planning, and assist in managing all aspects of company projects, including discovery, drawing review, and technical assistance to Project Managers. Your leadership will extend to maintaining training and personnel development programs, conducting emergency drills, and developing emergency action procedures for equipment failures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, supervise, coordinate, and direct the maintenance, repair, and construction of electro-mechanical equipment and systems.

  • Ensure continuous uptime of the central mechanical plant and associated campus-wide systems.
  • Design and implement an effective preventive maintenance program for all components and systems.

  • Manage work priorities based on equipment criticality and oversee employee scheduling.
  • Determine reasons for malfunctions and decide on corrective actions for timely repairs.

  • Assist in managing all aspects of company projects, including construction punch lists and commissioning.
  • Maintain and develop training and personnel development programs.
  • Conduct building emergency evacuation and fire drills and develop emergency action procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of supervisory experience in an operational commercial environment, including datacenter/critical infrastructure operations.
  • National Institute for Uniformed Licensing of Power Engineers Chief Engineer or equivalent certification.
  • Detailed working knowledge of chillers, boilers, pumps, valves, air handling equipment, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Experience with life safety and fire/sprinkler systems and 24/7 HVAC department operations.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Chief Engineer License of NIULPE or equivalent; EPA Universal or class II certification.
