About the position

As a Facility Maintenance Manager at AMC, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing all facility-related maintenance programs and procedures to ensure that our theatres meet the AMC standards of cleanliness, safety, and good repair. This role requires a proactive approach to facility management, where you will perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of the building to identify necessary repairs and maintenance needs. You will also be tasked with performing routine maintenance and timely repairs in various areas, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and food and beverage equipment. Your attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring that all building components are functioning properly and that any issues are addressed promptly. In addition to hands-on maintenance work, you will oversee vendor activities, scheduling repairs and maintenance as required, and closely monitoring their progress to ensure quality of work. You will need to provide constant attention to life safety issues, ensuring that emergency systems are operational through regular inspections and vendor maintenance contracts. Communication will be key in this role, as you will report any facility issues that cannot be immediately repaired to the theatre General Manager and seek technical support from the AMC Facility Engineer when necessary. You will also be responsible for developing routine systems to monitor problem areas and working with the General Manager to ensure that Film Crew procedures support a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for both associates and guests. Understanding and tracking theatre Variable Operating Expenses (VOE) related to maintenance, repairs, and supplies will be part of your responsibilities, as will following safety instructions for the use of chemicals and cleaning materials. This position requires the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and provide training support for the market as directed. Upholding AMC's Business Practice Standards and maintaining regular attendance for all scheduled shifts are essential aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly building inspections to identify necessary repairs.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and timely repairs in areas such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and food and beverage equipment.
  • Oversee vendor activities, scheduling repair and maintenance needs, and monitoring progress for quality assurance.
  • Ensure all life safety issues are addressed and building emergency systems are operational through inspections and vendor contracts.
  • Inspect and provide direction to janitorial service providers regarding cleaning issues that do not meet AMC standards.
  • Report facility issues that are not immediately repairable to the General Manager and seek technical support as needed.
  • Develop routine systems for constant monitoring of problem areas in the facility.
  • Work with the General Manager to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for associates and guests.
  • Track theatre Variable Operating Expenses (VOE) related to maintenance, repairs, and supplies.
  • Follow safety instructions for the use of chemicals and cleaning materials.
  • Perform tasks with tools, ladders, and lifts safely and effectively.
  • Provide training support for the market as directed.
  • Uphold AMC's Business Practice Standards and follow all established company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiencies in building trades including painting, wallpapering, plumbing, seating, and equipment repair.
  • Demonstrated administrative and follow-up skills to achieve successful maintenance and repair programs.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise details regarding building issues.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and achieve results through resources.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite.
  • Six months of supervisory or commensurate leadership experience.
