The Facility Manager for the Recycling Facility is responsible for the comprehensive management and operational oversight of the facility, ensuring that all activities align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals. This role encompasses budget management, technical performance, and operational efficiency, with a strong emphasis on health and safety protocols. The Facility Manager will be tasked with understanding and managing all federal, state, and local permits, as well as the associated work plans and site specifications. This includes monitoring compliance with reporting and operational parameters, ensuring that the facility operates within the established guidelines and restrictions. In addition to permit management, the Facility Manager will oversee all health and safety requirements, ensuring the protection of employees, vendors, contractors, clients, and the general public. This involves managing site employees according to established policies and procedures, as well as ensuring that all operations and maintenance of site equipment are conducted in compliance with these policies. The Facility Manager will also be responsible for meeting quality objectives across all facility components and managing all operational and administrative functions. Effective communication with the Vice President of Operations is crucial, as the Facility Manager will need to provide regular updates on work status, safety, employee performance, equipment functionality, and regulatory compliance. The role also includes supervising unit operations and maintenance to ensure compliance with cost control objectives, monitoring operating conditions, and adjusting them to maximize throughput while minimizing energy costs. The Facility Manager will develop and maintain a Predictive Maintenance program to reduce unscheduled downtime and will document all equipment repairs and modifications. Furthermore, the Facility Manager will coordinate recycled shipments and deliveries, work closely with the Customer Service Manager to align project schedules, and oversee the operation and maintenance of facility equipment. Training and development of new and existing personnel will also be a key responsibility, ensuring that all staff are equipped to perform their roles effectively and in accordance with company policies.
