About the position

The Facility Manager at Systems Int Ltd is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of multiple facilities within the region. This role is essential for ensuring that all equipment functions properly and that the environment remains clean, safe, and operational. Key responsibilities include performing routine repairs, coordinating vendor services, and monitoring safety compliance to maintain high operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to ensure a clean and presentable appearance.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry needs.
  • Maintain and repair equipment including forklifts, tuggers, and scissor lifts, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate the work of third-party vendors, including professional cleaning services and the landlord, to ensure timely completion of external tasks.
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules for electrical and mechanical systems within the facility.
  • Oversee scrap recycling, waste stream, and hazardous waste management activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment manuals, permits, and lead safety inspections.
  • Assist in coordinating ongoing and annual permits and inspections (e.g., emissions, fire, sprinkler) and conduct fire drills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general industrial or warehouse maintenance.
  • Experience with warehouse equipment (hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical) is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining safety protocols and equipment records.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment for repairs, as well as basic knowledge of Microsoft Office or maintenance management software.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between regional facilities as needed.
