About the position

We are seeking a self-motivated Facilities Operations Manager II for El Dorado, AR with high integrity and who leads by example. This position is responsible for the management of the Feed Scheduling Department for two large waste incineration trains through leadership of a team of Supervisors, Blends Chemists, and Feed Planners. The role operates in a demanding production warehouse environment that is active 24/7, 365 days a year, focusing on moving and mixing drums to keep burn lines full while ensuring proper burn chemistry and compatibility. Health and Safety is our number one priority, and we expect all employees to embody this commitment in their daily operations. The Facilities Operations Manager II will spend the majority of their time in the plant or field, ensuring compliance with facility operating permits such as RCRA, Title V, and NPDES. This role requires managing and developing multiple supervisors, overseeing various personnel and areas within the facility, and coordinating with different departments to ensure timely production. The manager must be able to learn and understand feed parameters, formulate chemical calculations, and utilize internal systems for data entry, updates, and analysis. Additionally, the manager will work closely with the General Manager on personnel functions, including employee development, hiring, and terminations, while continuously enhancing the facility's throughput and operation by analyzing and reviewing profitability. The Facilities Operations Manager II is also responsible for ensuring that employees follow and maintain all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through accountability and proper PPE selection. The role includes writing Safe Work Permits (LOTO, HOTWORK, etc.), developing daily production goals for multiple groups, and ensuring their execution while maintaining a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is always #1 priority by following all policies and procedures and acting in a safe manner.
  • Operate department in compliance with facility operating permits (RCRA, Title V, NPDES).
  • Spend the majority of time in the plant/field.
  • Manage and develop multiple supervisors.
  • Oversee and manage multiple personnel and areas within the facility.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely production.
  • Learn and understand feed parameters.
  • Formulate chemical calculations.
  • Utilize internal systems for entering, updating and/or analyzing data.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely production and the assignment of shared resources.
  • Work in conjunction with the General Manager on personnel functions including employee development, hiring, and terminating.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to continuously develop and enhance the facilities throughput and operation by analysis and review of profitability for the facility.
  • Ensure employees follow and maintain all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through employee accountability and determining proper PPE selection.
  • Ensure, understand, and take ownership for area specific permit required compliance standards.
  • Write Safe Work Permits (LOTO, HOTWORK etc.).
  • Develop daily production goals for multiple groups and ensure execution.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; higher education such as an Associates or Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of management experience in an industrial/plant environment preferred.
  • 3+ years in a production-driven environment.
  • Chemical experience is a plus.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with various departments simultaneously.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Mechanically inclined is an asset.
  • Computer savvy with great communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Enjoy being in the field.
  • Ability to be on call.
