About the position

The Facility Service Manager at Extra Space Storage is responsible for overseeing the facility management function for a multi-site portfolio in the Jacksonville, Florida area. This role ensures the safety, security, and overall condition of the properties while managing maintenance and capital improvement activities. The manager collaborates with various teams to develop strategies for maintaining and enhancing the physical assets of the properties, providing training and support to achieve operational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the facility management function for a multi-site portfolio of properties.
  • Ensure safety, security, and overall condition of the properties meet high standards.
  • Manage all activities related to facility maintenance and capital improvements.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, vendors, and consultants to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Develop and manage effective property management strategies leveraging technology and teamwork.
  • Travel regularly to inspect property conditions and build relationships with operations partners.
  • Provide leadership and training on facility care and maintenance to operations staff.
  • Manage capital projects, including scope of work development and vendor management.
  • Maintain detailed project files and records, including invoice management and accounting.
  • Support disaster preparedness and response to property damage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional certifications in facilities, project management, or construction are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of facility or construction trades and ability to evaluate work quality.
  • Highly proficient in current business software applications and project management software.
