About the position

The Facility Solutions Manager role at Hensel Phelps is a pivotal position focused on providing technical solutions leadership and management for the delivery and implementation of facility management processes and solutions. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of facility operations, building systems, and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively to clients. The Solutions Manager will work closely with technical and management subject matter experts to prepare technical solutions, documentation, and management in accordance with company guidelines and philosophies. This position is integral to ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of operational excellence and client satisfaction. In this role, the Solutions Manager will be responsible for developing technical solutions related to facility management and supporting the documentation of systems and solutions. The position requires strong project management skills, the ability to recognize and troubleshoot facilities processes, and a solid understanding of financial data related to facilities. The Solutions Manager will also act as a team leader, coordinating and directing the workload of the Solutions Associate(s) and developing other members of the process staff. This includes determining processes based on knowledge, experience, and correspondence with design and engineering firms, as well as reading and understanding plans and specifications for major and complex projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of facilities operations and building systems, with the ability to work collaboratively in a mobile work environment. They will utilize the full capabilities of software packages to improve production, quality, accuracy, and deliverables, ensuring the ongoing success of Hensel Phelps. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical solutions leadership and management for facility management processes and solutions.
  • Develop technical solutions relating to facility management and support documentation of systems and solutions.
  • Act as team leader, coordinating, directing, and developing other members of the process staff.
  • Determine processes based on knowledge, experience, and correspondence with design/engineering firms.
  • Read and understand plans and specifications for major/complex projects.
  • Research and collect input from multiple internal and external resources.
  • Analyze past and future program performance, understanding assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Utilize software packages to improve production, quality, accuracy, and deliverables.
  • Direct the workload of the Solutions Associate(s).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience in professional services, construction, maintenance, and operations contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience, preferably in Facilities Management, Mechanical, Electrical or MEP Construction Management.
  • Master's degree in technical/facility management related field preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe cloud.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to recognize, troubleshoot, document, and optimize facilities processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial data relating to facilities.
  • Good understanding of the critical facility environment, including hospitals, airports, and data centers.
  • Valid driver's license.
