About the position

The Facility Systems Work Center Manager at Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) plays a crucial role in overseeing the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of various facility systems, including controls, alarms, electrical systems, airfield lighting systems, and power production systems. This position is essential for ensuring the operational integrity of all real property and real property installed equipment (RPIE) assets, supporting the facility systems requirements effectively. The manager will be responsible for managing personnel and ensuring that all tasks are performed in compliance with established standards and regulations. In this role, the manager will ensure the accuracy and integrity of existing BUILDER SMS data, providing updates as necessary. They will oversee utility service outages, ensuring that they do not exceed sixty minutes unless previously scheduled and approved. The manager will also be responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, water-based systems, special hazard suppression systems, and mass notification systems. This includes the repair, replacement, and modification of alarm control panels, initiating devices, and notification appliances. Additionally, the Facility Systems Work Center Manager will monitor the operation and maintenance of carbon monoxide detection systems, environmental detection alarms, and other critical systems. They will coordinate with the Utility Privatization System Owner for any work affecting the primary electrical distribution system and manage the inspection and maintenance of interior electrical systems, subsystem grounds, and lightning protection systems. The role also involves implementing a corrosion control program and conducting annual inventories of generators, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The position requires a proactive approach to leadership and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including the Fire Department and other utility service providers. The manager will also be responsible for ensuring that all personnel are trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively, contributing to a high-performing team dedicated to supporting the mission of CGS.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of existing BUILDER SMS data and provide updates if deviations have occurred.
  • Ensure utility service outages shall be no more than sixty (60) minutes in duration unless previously scheduled and approved by the Government.
  • Oversee the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, water-based systems, special hazard suppression systems, and mass notification systems.
  • Provide inspection and testing schedules to the Fire Department at least two business days prior to execution of any testing.
  • Monitor the inspection, testing, operation, and maintenance of carbon monoxide detection systems and environmental detection alarms.
  • Coordinate with the Utility Privatization (UP) System Owner prior to performing work that may affect the primary electrical distribution system.
  • Manage the inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of interior electrical systems and subsystem grounds.
  • Implement a corrosion control program IAW AFI 32-1001, Civil Engineer Operations, Ch 14.
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, replace, and modify cathodic protection and airfield lighting systems.
  • Conduct an annual inventory of all CE-operated and maintained RPIE and EAID generators by 1 August each year.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent GED.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expert level of experience in facilities operations and maintenance related work.
  • Demonstrate successful leadership.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
