About the position

Hope Health is a faith-based, Federally Qualified Healthcare Center dedicated to providing quality healthcare to the Ellis County community. We are currently seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) to join our team and provide care specifically to pediatric patients at our Ennis, TX location. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Pediatrics, demonstrate the ability to work independently, and exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care to patients, which includes diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and providing essential patient education. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our pediatric patients receive the highest standard of care in a supportive and compassionate environment. In this position, you will perform physical examinations and preventive health measures in accordance with the prescribed guidelines and instructions of the supervising Physician. You will also be tasked with diagnosing and treating common acute illnesses and minor injuries, as well as referring patients to specialists when necessary. Your expertise will be crucial in educating patients about health maintenance and disease prevention, thereby promoting overall wellness within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to pediatric patients.
  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
  • Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and minor injuries.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays.
  • Prescribe medications as needed.
  • Educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing Program with national certification in an area of expertise.
  • Current Licensure by Texas Board of Nursing and from a governing board for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Two years' experience in primary care/family practice preferred.
  • Current ATLS/PALS and BLS certifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Pediatrics is preferred.
  • Skilled in counseling and leadership and management abilities.
