About the position

The Field Account Manager (Institutional) is responsible for driving sales and profit targets within the Los Angeles/Orange County territory by implementing effective sales and marketing strategies. This role involves selling MRO supplies, janitorial products, and other related items while managing customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position requires a proactive approach to prospecting and account management, with a focus on securing new accounts and maintaining existing ones.

Responsibilities

  • Exceed sales and profit targets in a designated territory by implementing sales and marketing programs.
  • Drive growth by securing profitable new accounts through industry research and proactive prospecting.
  • Manage sales and customer retention initiatives to enhance overall sales performance and profitability.
  • Generate a strategic sales call schedule and engage in face-to-face customer meetings to identify opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified accounts to meet or exceed sales and margin plans.
  • Utilize effective cold call strategies to facilitate territory account growth opportunities.
  • Implement approved sales strategies to achieve targeted sales outcomes and foster customer relationships.
  • Utilize Salesforce reporting and data analysis to identify sales growth opportunities.
  • Review customer portfolio to drive action with underperforming accounts.
  • Collaborate with inside sales to support business growth.

Requirements

  • Must reside in the Los Angeles/Orange County, CA area with reliable transportation.
  • 5-8 years of experience in account management or related field, or 3-5 years with a Master's degree.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, and lighting.
  • Proficiency in SAP/Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Self-motivated with a hunter mentality and eagerness to prospect.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in selling MRO supplies or janitorial products.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
