About the position

The Field Medical Assistant at Conviva Palm Beach is responsible for providing direct patient care through home visits and clinical duties. This role involves collaborating with healthcare providers, taking vital signs, administering injections, performing diagnostic tests, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records. The position requires a proactive approach to patient care, ensuring quality standards are met while managing the provider's schedule and conducting pre-visit planning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform home visits that consist of planning routes, confirming insurance, taking vitals, drawing blood, charting in eCW and processing labs drawn.
  • Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type.
  • Manage the provider's schedule to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Obtain and record medical history and vital signs.
  • Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments.
  • Perform specimen collection and point of care testing.
  • Prepare and administer medications under direction of healthcare providers.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures.
  • Maintain established quality control standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program.
  • Current CPR certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Spanish and Creole is a Plus.
  • An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, NHA or AAH.
  • Experience with HEDIS and ICD/CPT coding.
  • Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Experience in a fast paced/high volume environment.
