About the position

The Field Operations Manager at Michael Hatcher & Associates, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the successful operations of a portfolio of landscaping accounts. This includes managing budgets, ensuring quality product delivery, training crews, and enforcing safety protocols. The role requires strong leadership skills and effective communication with senior account managers to support crew success and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety policies of the company are enforced.
  • Manage morning dispatch of crews.
  • Manage budget and handle scheduling to maximize crew routes and hours management.
  • Modify routes based on new work and cancellations.
  • Build production plans on each property to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Work with crews to maintain company quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Sr. Account Managers for proper job set-up.
  • Monitor daily crew performance and review time sheets.
  • Anticipate and evaluate equipment needs, managing crew equipment inventory and repairs.
  • Train, coach, review, and reward crews.
  • Enforce company standards including uniforms and safety policies.
  • Onboard and train foremen and crew members on company standards and landscaping practices.
  • Review last-minute needs or issues with Account Managers before crew arrival.
  • Prepare paperwork, route sheets, and instructions for crews.
  • Evaluate safe work techniques and job site hazards.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure crew members have safety gear before dispatching to work sites.
  • Inspect job quality and productivity upon crew completion of tasks.
  • Review labor hour efficiency with crew leaders and address any issues.
  • Develop property attack plans for larger jobs and monitor hours daily for improvements.
  • Check irrigation systems and lawn care issues, coordinating with relevant departments for resolutions.
  • Assist crews as needed and demonstrate servant leadership.
  • Communicate client concerns to Account Managers and follow up on resolutions.
  • Conduct end-of-day reviews with crews to discuss performance and prepare for the next day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the landscape industry.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized job site.
