About the position

Insight Global is seeking Field Service Automation Engineers to join our team, focusing on the installation and servicing of manufacturing automation systems. This role involves extensive travel to various client sites, where you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining automated systems that facilitate material handling processes, including loading, unloading, and transferring operations. The successful candidate will manage the entire installation lifecycle of equipment at client facilities, ensuring that all systems are operational and meet the required specifications. In addition to installation, the Field Service Automation Engineer will provide comprehensive technical support to clients and service engineers. This includes conducting training sessions to ensure that all personnel are well-versed in the operation and maintenance of the automated systems. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively with external manufacturing clients to address their needs and concerns. We have multiple openings for this position across various locations, including Manchester, NH; Columbus, OH; Salinas, KS; Minneapolis, MN; and Seattle, WA. Candidates should be prepared for extensive travel on a weekly basis, which may include weekend stays depending on service requirements. Responsibilities

  • Perform installation and service on manufacturing automation systems at client sites.
  • Oversee the complete installation lifecycle of equipment at client facilities.
  • Deploy and maintain automated systems for material handling processes.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support to clients and service engineers.
  • Conduct training sessions for service engineers and clients on system operation and maintenance.
  • Communicate directly with external manufacturing clients to address their needs.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working with layout drawings and blueprints used in the installation of equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience performing maintenance programming of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
  • Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and Oscilloscope.
